Instituto De La Visión Dr. Méndez

Dr. Antonio Méndez Gutiérrez founded Instituto de la Visión Dr. Méndez in 1965. His internship as Ophthalmologist MD took place at the famed "Asociación para Evitar la Ceguera en México"(Association for avoiding blindness in México). After that he became resident in the Ophthalmology department at the General Hospital of the National Medical Center in México City.

Dr. Méndez Gutiérrez is an Ophthalmology pioneer in the state of Baja California, since 1965 has consulted thousands of local and foreign patients in both his clinics (Tijuana and Mexicali)

He taught ophthalmology for more than 20 years at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California to hundreds of doctors actually in practice. His research work is available in more than 40 publications, including his books. Among other inventions and instrument creations he developed Constructive Keratoplasty (CK).

He has been a speaker in more than 25 countries about different subjects: cataracts, anterior segment, keratomy, trabeculoplasty and many other ophthalmology subjects. He is a member of different associations in México, United States, Latin America and Europe. Actually he is the director of Méndez Lasik Institute at Mexicali, Baja California.
